2020-2021 Education and Community Programs
We are so excited to introduce you to our 2020-2021 Education and Community Programs. This year, we are pleased to offer three virtual and live performances through our Professional Touring Company.

The Incredible Jungle Journey of Fenda Maria (K-5)

A magical story based on an Angolan folktale that follows a young girl through a journey of friendship, love, and courage.

Freedom Songs (K-Adult)

A musical journey that chronicles African American history and our endless fight for freedom, justice, and equality.

Virtual Performances: For the virtual performance option, the cost ranges from $250-$300. The $250 option includes the pre-recorded performance and study guide for your students. The $300 option include the perks of the first package along with a livestream Q&A with the performers of the Professional Touring Company.
Live Performances: For the live performance option, the price is $500. The live performance option includes the performance, study guide and a Q&A with the Professional Touring Company.
We would love to work with you and bring these educational and inspirational shows to your students. In addition to our touring performances, we also offer Drama Workshops and a Teen Technical program that may interest your students. I have included our 2020-2021 Education brochure, which gives detailed information on all our programs. We hope to hear from you soon, and we look forward to partnering with you to entertain diverse audiences, educate promising youth, and enrich our community.

Performance Time
The Black Rep Offers four 50- minute touring productions performed by members of the Professional Intern Program.
Performance Space
These shows are designed to be presented in most open spaces such as multipurpose rooms, gymnasiums and theatre auditoriums. No special lighting or sound equipment required.
The Incredible Jungle Journey of Fenda Maria

Grades: K-5 $500

Based on an African folktale, nothing goes right in this little village since the Prince has fallen victim to the terrible witch, Takaya, and has been sent into a long sleep across the jungle. It falls upon a young girl, Maria, to cross the jungle and cry twelve jars of tears in order to release the Prince from his sleep.
Performance Enrichment
Touring productions are accompanied by educational study guides with pre and post-performance activities designed to enlighten educators and students.

The performance experience can be used to develop activities that:

Freedom Songs

Grades: 6-Adult $500
Follow along with the touring company as we journey from Africa to the United States weaving the story of an
Africa-American's fight for civil rights. After this compelling journey, you will see how far we've come and how far we have yet to go.

All out of county booking fees begin at $550.00.

The touring company performs to an audience size of 250 or less.

The Black Rep Professional Touring Season will end Friday, June 7, 2019.

All bookings will need to be booked at least 7 days prior to performance date.
